Already thinking about this year's event. Hopefully we're gonna do it bigger and better than last year. I mean, this is Texas after all. Got some improv troops in mind for entertainment purposes and a MUCH bigger stage. If you have any suggestions, whether it be comedy, act, or venue-wise, please feel free to let me know!

What a Year!
Congrats to Child's Play! This year, we (as a whole...not just the show) raised $2,294,317.53! That's a LOT of money and I want to thank everyone who donated to the show. Thanks so much!
The current plan is to do this again, with a bigger venue and awesome comics. See you in December!

Tomorrow Night
Well, it's almost here. TOMORROW NIGHT. Bring out all your friends and family to the Opening Bell Coffee House and help us raise money so kids in children's hospitals can have a great Christmas. And really this is a gift that keeps giving cause the money you donate will be used to buy games, toys and books that the children can use year-round.
So far, Child's Play has raised over $1,430,000 this year alone. They have broke their own donation bar, and I want to break ours over to the right. If you can't come to the show, you can donate $5 by texting GAMERS to 50555, or you can buy the Humble Indie Bundle with proceeds going to Child's Play.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Breaking the $1 Million Mark
I was so excited about the show on Friday and all our awesome prizes that I forgot to say that Child's Play broke $1 million on the 10th! Considering how hard times are and all the worries most of us had, that's really exciting. And thanks to all the people that have donated so far! We just hit the $50 mark, but Dallas was named the 4th most generous city in the US (actual news, not fake) so I know lots of people will be there this Friday. Hope to see you there!

Comic Lucas Molandes
Thought this was going to be a chick fest, huh? Nope, we got Lucas Molandes!
Lucas was the winner of the Funniest Person is Austin contest this year, and has appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham as well as CNN Headline News. He is a smart comic who will make you laugh while making a point, and we are very excited he is going to be on the show. Want to know more about Lucas? Click here.

Comic Shelly Alexis
There was a promise music AND comedy, right?
One of the comics that'll be on the show December 17th is Shelly Alexis. She has been on TV with the show Body Shots (MAVTV) and hosts a weekly radio show Stand Up and Laugh on Fishbowl Radio Network. Her comedy is edgy and no-holds-barred, with material ranging from her parents divorce to her best friend Kelly. Want to know more about Shelly? You can read her profile at RoofTop Comedy here.

Musical Guest: Becky Middleton
So who will you see at this shindig? Both an appropriate and valid question. It is one thing to say the show is great and another thing completely for the show to be actually great (which it will be).
Well, we'll be starting out with the vocal stylings of Becky Middleton. Becky is a local artist who combines folk, blues and country to create her unique sound. Her song "Lost My Heart" was voted one the top local songs in 2009, and she played during Austin's SXSW music festival. Also, she hosts the Songwriters in the Round at Opening Bell Coffee on Monday nights where local singer songwriters play and answer audience questions. Intrigued? You can read an interview with Becky from Pegasus News here. Thanks for playing for us!
